Opinion: Cori Bush defends using private security (Audio)
Congresswoman Cori Bush appeared on CBS News to discuss the eviction crisis currently impacting many households in America. During the interview, Bush was also asked about her hiring of private security while also calling to defund the police. Bush maintained she uses private security because her life has been threatened by white supremacists and spent $70,000 because she values her life on earth. Furthermore, she doubled down and said she would spend more money if need be in order to preserve her life and continue the work she is doing on behalf of the American people.
In regards to defunding the police, Bush maintained her stance and continued her support for limiting law enforcement in minority communities and instead allocating funding towards social justice matters and mental health experts.
Bush’s full interview is below as well as my opinion on the matter.
