SportsCenter Anchor Sage Steele Sues ESPN
Sage Steele, anchor of SportCenter at noon, is suing ESPN and its parent company Disney over free speech violations. Steele claims she was unfairly treated after an appearance on former NFL Quarterback Jay Culter’s podcast where she made comments about Covid-19 vaccine mandates and former President Barack Obama being bi-racial and not “Black”. The comments about Barack Obama stem from a previous appearance on The View, where Steele referred to herself as bi-racial and faced resistance from Barbara Walters because the former President identifies as Black.
ESPN responded to the lawsuit saying, Sage remains a valued contributor on some of ESPN’s highest-profile content, including the recent Masters telecasts and anchoring our noon SportsCenter. As a point of fact, she was never suspended.”
