VIDEO: President Biden request $33 Billion for Ukraine
President Joe Biden is requesting $33 billion dollars from Congress to continue aiding Ukraine’s defense against the Russian invasion. In a 20-minute press conference, the President made his case for the increase in funding for the war. The Presidential Drawdown Authority has almost been “exhausted” and President Biden wants to provide ongoing aid to Ukraine. The President hopes Congress will move quickly to approve his request. However, he is also requesting 22.5 Billion to combat Covid-19, which will likely cause a delay to the Ukraine aid bill as Democrats are seeking to pair the bills together.
The GOP will likely hold up the paired bills as trillions of dollars have already been dedicated to Covid-19 relief and the Biden administration has not been able to account for the money already spent.
